Community allotments in Kells, Co. Meath, a distinct possibility.
Good news for Kells with 40 allotments expected to be available to the areas residents this year.
If you are interested, then get down to the Edmund Rice Centre for a public meeting on Wednesday 17th February at 9pm.
Late February or early March of this year is the expected time when these allotments will be ready.
Two acres of agricultural land at Loyd have been set aside for the allotments, land which is being let to the group for a nominal fee.
Rumour has it that 32 applications have been received so far by the council, so it’s time to get moving.
They hope to be able to provide allotment plots of approximately 100 square metres for €60 and larger plots of 160 sq metres for €90 for an 11-month period.
Good value.
