Todays Irish Times newspaper (Thursday, March 26, 2009) ran an article entitled “Why growing your own food is back on the menu“, which gives a mention to Allotments.ie.

    Well done on the mention - great to see this kind of thing get national press attention. Hopefully it will help raise awareness for allotments in Ireland and help dispel any lingering image problems!

    Thanks “Cheese”. Oh I think awareness is growing alright. Now all we need is a fine summer to carry on this wave of “growing” interest. Of course newspaper articles dedicated to the groundswell and mentions or links to this site can only help things further.

    Glad you found the article useful. I’m hoping to get the chance to practise what I preach by this Autumn, or certainly in time for next Spring. What makes me suspect that writing about this will prove to be a great deal easier than actually doing it!
