Castlefarm Allotments are part of a 170-acre organic dairy farm nestled in the shadows of the Wicklow Mountains, half a mile from the village of Narraghmore in Co. Kildare.
The allotments are situated halfway between Athy and Kilcullen.

As an allotment holder at Castlefarm Allotments you will have the opportunity to take part in a monthly Saturday morning talk, followed by a walk around the allotments and Castlefarm garden to give hands on advice on what growers need to do.

Typical size of plots: The Standard plot sizes are 5 x 6 metres (30m2), however larger plots are available upon request.

Charges: €250 per year for the standard plots. There is also an organic growing course/allotment package available for €350

Fruit tree planting allowed: No.

Sheds/greenhouses allowed: Yes, upon size clearance with the allotment owner.

Help available on site: Hands on advice on what growers need to do.

Secure storage: To be confirmed.

On-site car parking: Yes

Other amenities: Communal recreational shed and picnic tables supplied on site for all allotment holders.

    We are running a course to on how to set up allotmnets for private owners who are thinking about setting up or have recently set up allotmnets and also for community groups. The focus will be on costs, serives and also identifying what allotmnet holders want. The course is on Saturday 9th for three hours. It costs €80. More details can be got on
